"As Christians, a strategy forces us to seek the mind and will of God. Strategy is an attempt to anticipate the future God wants to bring about. It is a statement of faith as to what we believe that future to be and how we can go about bringing it into existence."
- Edward R. Dayton & Dar A. Fraser
I think the Church is still figuring how to employ media to its best. For maintenance purposes (promos, announcements, teachings, sermons)? For expression?
Met many people who "just want a video". I hope more people will realise that there needs to be an idea and strategy behind the "video", better still, the media ministry. Many videos can be done, but are they effective? Are they reaching the right audience? Is the style right? Is the medium suitable?
I like this quote:
"... the key to remaining storytellers is to identify the best way to tell a specific story. Is it video? Stills? A multimedia presentation?
What the Web has brought us is new ways to challenge ourselves. The biggest challenge is to accept the fact that more changes are ahead. Our old comfort zone is in the rear-view mirror."
